If I were to add a class to the school curriculum it would be a music class, but not like the one we already have. This class would be for people who want to learn how to play an instrument, any intrument they want. They would have to sign up for this class because you shouldn't be forced to play an instrument, although i think it is good to learn one. According to researchers children and adults who learn instruments can increase their IQ.
In this class the teacher would take the student and teach him/her the instrument they want to play. This would be a great class for students who want to learn an instrument because lessons are expensive. I take lessons one day a week and it is $25 for a half hour. Thats about $1,300 a year for lessons! Although the music teacher we already have in school teaches the instrument you want to learn, you're learning it with a group of people who are learning the same instrument. This isn't fair for some of the students because they may be slower at learning the instrument than the others, or maybe they are going to slow for the student and they want to go further. I think this would be a great program for people who have an interest in playing a musical instrument.
