Embracing big brother: How facial recognition could help fight crime

- Information is stored in a database through facial recognition, which is a computer based system that immediately identifies a person based on a digital image and/or the person's video source.
- This is a tool was used in TV shows such as CSI, and now is gonna be use in reality.
- Facial recognition is a key part of the agency's NGI System, a system that includes iris scans, DNA analysis, and voice identification.
- Their goal is to reduce terrorist and criminal activity by improving the biometric identification and criminal history information services.
- Dr. Chris Solomon in the UK created an "electronic sketch artist" system that is used in more than 30 countries.
- This technology is soon to be release across the U.S. in 2014
